Filmmaker Karan Johar always makes headlines. While he may have enjoyed the lavish success of Brahmastrawhich was produced by Dharma Productions, he is also working on the post-production of his next directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. But earlier this week, the filmmaker announced on Twitter that he is leaving the platform for the time being. Speak with Bollywood Hungama recently the filmmaker spoke at length about his career, social media and more.

In the rapid-fire segment, when asked what he would like to give up – social media or brands, Karan Johar quickly replied, “Give up social media.” When asked if he has a fake account to stalk celebrities, he said with a laugh, “No…I’m stalking them from my real account. I don’t have finsta.”
Karan Johar went off Twitter earlier this week. His tweet read: “Just making room for more positive energies and this is step one in that direction. Goodbye Twitter!”
The 2020 pandemic saw an increase in negativity and trolling from Bollywood movies and celebrities. The lords were called out for nepotism and merging with outsiders, and many topics resulted in many being brutally torn apart on social media. Filmmaker Karan Johar was one of the names, who was on the receiving end of it all. He previously said: Bollywood Hungama“Bollywood has been going through a really rough time with all the trolling and bashing that happened. It wasn’t a fun time. Most of all, I felt like I was in the middle of so much negativity. It was something I never foresaw, imagined I felt like so much was being said and written that it was unfair.”
He added: “Still, you had to hold up your chin and move on. Because ultimately I’m accountable to my company, my mother and my family. I just felt I had to be stronger and go through everything on my own. Being resilient was very important at that time. It was just so unnecessary and I’m glad we could get past that and focus on the work. That’s what I did. I put all my thoughts on the work zone. Maybe came not everyone look like a stronger person, but I would say there were a lot of them.”
Professionally, Karan Johar .’s next direction is Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. The film is slated for a 2023 release. The filmmaker also plans to direct an action entertainer with hopes of starting the shoot in April 2023.
