The Dick Wolf series sealed the network’s success in both demo and total audience.
Thanks to its “FBI” franchise, CBS has once again capped off Tuesday night’s win in both the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and overall average viewers, according to Nielsen’s Live Plus same-day data. The network pulled back in ratings after last week’s slight drop, up 0.5 in the demo, and saw an overall average viewership of 6.2 million.
Starting at 8 p.m., CBS’ flagship “FBI” garnered 0.53 in ratings and an overall average audience of 7.1 million — the night’s highest among all network and primetime hours. Subsequently, “FBI: International” received 0.48 in demos and an average total of 6.1 million viewers. The primetime finale for the network was “FBI: Most Wanted”, which saw a tenth of a point jump from 5.3 million viewers on average over the past week (from 0.38 to 0.48 in the prime demo).
Here’s how primetime fell short at the major broadcasters:
As mentioned, CBS won Tuesday in both ratings and overall average viewership. Second in Command rating-wise was ABC, earning a 0.47 in demo.
ABC aired an installment of “Bachelor in Paradise”, which hit 0.55 in the lead demo and garnered a total average of 2.3 million viewers. At 10 p.m., the network aired an episode of “The Rookie Fed” starring Niece Nash, which drew 0.29 in demos and an average of 2 million viewers.
NBC was in third place in the ratings with a 0.4 in the key demographic. The network was also in second place in terms of total viewership with 4 million. At 8 p.m., NBC aired the third part of their Battle Rounds, “The Voice”, which received 0.6 in demos (the night’s highest in network and time), as well as 6.1 million overall average viewership. An hour later, “La Brea” aired at 0.32 in ratings and 3.4 million overall average viewers. Closing the Night was an installment of “New Amsterdam”, which hit 0.28 in ratings and an average of 2.6 million viewers.
Fourth in the ratings was Fox, which garnered a total of 0.26 million viewers in demo and 2.1 million in primetime. At 8 p.m., the broadcast of “The Resident” received a rating of 0.31 and attracted 2.6 million total viewers on average. An hour later, an episode of “Monarch” earned 0.26 in ratings and received an overall average viewership of 1.6 million. Fox came in just behind ABC in terms of overall average viewership to take fourth place and just shy of 50,000 viewers from the latter’s 2.17 million.
The CW was fifth in ratings, with 0.05 in demos, as well as fifth in overall average viewership, with 362,000 (a drop of 200,000 from the previous week). With the second episode of “The Winchesters”, the prequel series to “Supernatural”, The CW hit 0.07 compared to last week’s 0.12. The series also saw a drop in overall average viewership, reaching 464,000 from the previous week’s 781,000. The network closed with the broadcast of “Professional” at 9 p.m., which attracted 0.04 in the lead demo and an average audience of 261,000.

Among Spanish-language networks, Univision was in the first demo with an average audience of 0.4 and 1.4 million in primetime. “La Herencia, un legado de amor” received a demo rating of 0.5 and a total of 1.6 million viewers at 8 pm. “La Madrasastra”, a reboot of the 2005 Mexican telenovela of the same name, premiered at 10 pm, ending the night with 0.3 ratings and an average of 1.7 million total viewers.
Telemundo came in second place with a 0.3 demo rating and an average of 988,000 total viewers. “Exatalon”, which aired from 7 to 9 pm, managed a 0.2 demo rating and a total of 857,000 viewers. At 9 p.m. “La Reina del Sur” had its third season premiere, which received 0.4 in demos and an average total of 1.2 million viewers. “Infill: Historia d’un Angano” closed the night from 10 to 11 with a 0.2 demo rating and 814,000 total viewers.
