Sony Pictures Entertainment’s highly anticipated live-action CGI adaptation of the classic, best-selling children’s book – Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile is all set to hit theaters on November 4. And it looks like the studio has just found the perfect Indian musical voice for the film’s titular character, Lyle the Crocodile. Popular Indian singer, actor and reality show host Aditya Narayan has come on board to lend his voice to the merry singing crocodile as he embarks on an epic adventure on the big screen, in Hindi in Indian theaters. Shawn Mendes is the voice for the English version of the titular character.

On this occasion, Aditya Narayan said, “Music is a universally loved language. And while singing is my forte, it was enormously challenging and rewarding at the same time. This is simply because voicing an animated singing character is vastly different from singing for a movie.” or a music album, here I really had to understand the character as a three-dimensional being, feeling and emote, and I was the voice conveying every nuance of this character’s life, love and struggle, it was literally voice acting. ”
Shony Panjikaran, General Manager and Head of Sony Pictures Releasing International said: “We are delighted to welcome Aditya Narayan on board as the Indian voice for one of the most classic and unique children’s characters in the world, Lyle the singing crocodile. When we heard Aditya sing to Lyle’s tunes we knew it was the perfect match as there was a certain sense of vulnerability that echoed through his voice and that is the essence of Lyle’s character. He’s a stage-shy crocodile whom we fondly refer to in the studios as “the soft genius.” He exists to melt any heart, and that’s the beauty of this character.” He added: “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile is a fantastic popcorn movie that takes you on an inner adventure, one that kids and adults alike will love. will enjoy.”
Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile also stars Javier Bardem, Constance Wu, Scoot McNairy and child actor Winslow Fegley. The film features original songs written by the famous songwriter team behind the musical drama The greatest showman with Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
Sony Pictures Entertainment India comes out Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile in theaters in India on November 4 in English and Hindi.
