Sharvari Wagh loves Diwali and all the traditions that come with it – from lighting diyas to making rangoli, dressing up in Indian clothes to meeting friends and family, she thoroughly enjoys all aspects of the festival. However, the only Diwali ritual she looks forward to is the ‘pahili pahat’, a Maharashtrian ritual where the whole family gathers to eat the first meal of the day before sunrise.

Speaking of the same, Sharvari said, “I love Diwali and the ritual of pahili pahat in which we all wake up as a family before sunrise, use Utna (which is actually Multani mitti) as a scrub for our skin, get ready in new Indian clothes, listen to happy Marathi songs about Diwali and have breakfast together.”
She went on to say: “This breakfast is called faral and it includes dishes like chiwda, chakli, shankarpale, karanji and many more delicacies like those all cooked at home. I’m really looking forward to this meal when we come together as a family and the mood is very festive and festive. It feels like a new beginning. I also enjoy the wide distribution of food and my favorite thing is chakli and shankarpale.”
She summed it up by concluding: “As a child I always enjoyed faral and now I appreciate it more because everyone is busy in their own hectic schedules, but on Diwali we all come together and after faral we take the blessings of our elderly. “
