Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) has many contestants, who attend the show not only to win the prize money but also to show their love for Amitabh Bachchan and Bollywood movies. Recently, the host came across one such movie buff who seems to have had information about movies dating back to the 1970s when the megastar was part of Muqaddar Ka Sikandar in which he stood next to Vinod Khanna.
KBC 14: Amitabh Bachchan apologizes to a contestant for hurting Vinod Khanna during the shooting of Muqaddar Ka Sikandar
The contestant Suraj Das was quite curious about a particular incident that happened on the sets of the film. When the two actors shot a scene in a bar, Amitabh’s action inadvertently injured Vinod Khanna’s chin, leaving the actor with 16 stitches for the wound. In the video, contestant Suraj said, “Sir maine kahi padha tha, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar ki shoot ki dauran jo Vinod Khanna ji hai, monkey unpe glass phekte hai aur woh glass unke chin pe lagta hai. Aur fir unhe solha taske padhte hai! Kya ye sahi hai sir? (Sir, I read somewhere that during the shooting of Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, you threw a glass at Vinod Khanna and injured his chin. He ended up getting 16 stitches, is this true, sir?” To this, Amitabh rudely replied, “Sir ye bilkul sahi hai, galati hogyi humse (You are right, sorry I made that mistake.)”
The actor further revealed: “Bar mai khade hokar hum pi rhe the (We were drinking at the bar).” Immediately the participant said, “Haan haan sahi hai (Yes, you are right).” To the same, Amitabh added: “Jab aap itna kuch padh liye toh kaahe tok rahein hai. (If you know so much, why do you keep cutting it in half.)” Their funny chatter seems to have garnered a huge response from the audience.
In addition, the participant also discussed how Amitabh Bachchan used to cycle from Juhu to Bandra as part of the rehearsals of the said film and how he would often be followed by his female fans.
Kaun Banega Crorepati is currently in its 14th season. KBC 14, one of the longest running game shows on Indian television, is a remake of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and airs at 9pm on Sony TV.
