Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who turned 80 earlier this year, was rushed to hospital after severing a vein in his left calf.

The cinema icon shared the news on his official blog, saying he had been given stitches to control the bleeding. “A protruding piece of metal cut my left calf and managed to sever the vein… the vein when cut spurts out the ‘red’ uncontrollably… but had the audacity to get the doctor and all into an OR and attach it…with the help of a team of contributors and docs on time…”, he wrote, as shared by News 18.
“The knock is the control factor at KBC and it has to be said that those 3-4 hours in each episode do make for the … It’s a bit ineffective, but the will to continue in the same spirit of measurement and strain and class in range gives hope and we deal with it … It’s quite fresh and with opinion and advice (sic), “he added.
The Kaun Banega Crorepati host said doctors advised him not to strain or attempt to walk, even on a treadmill. “Granted that the medic is not allowed to stand, not move, not strain by even walking a treadmill is not allowed!! Sometimes the satisfaction of the extreme can bring the joy or sorrow of existence…”
He added: “But extremes don’t last and never last … they are lost or leave an indelible mark … in strategic places on the body or bodies … that’s a shame … it takes a while before you get out, so help god..!!! (sic),” Bachchan wrote.
Earlier on Saturday Bachchan posted pictures of the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati who showed him running with a bandage on his left leg. “Strap running jogging to work…in that horizon of loud cheers and love…and your PRAYER,” he wrote in the caption.
In the meantimeKaun Banega Crorepati is currently in its 14th season. As one of the longest running game shows on Indian television, KBC 14 is a remake of Who wants to be a millionaireand will be broadcast on Sony TV at 9 p.m.
