With Diwali, the festival fever in India is unprecedented. Exchanging sweets, lighting lamps, partying and spending time with family is something we all look forward to. But if there’s one thing about Diwali that many of us have objected to in recent years, it’s fireworks. From causing noise to air pollution, the dangers of fireworks are often a concern for celebrities as they have expressed their views against their use time and time again. Besides them are also former Bigg Boss contestant Uorfi Javed, Lock Upp contestant Anjali Arora and Swaragini actor Namish Taneja.

“I am against exploding fireworks, I don’t like pollution and it often harms animals. That is why I would advise everyone not to burn crackers. It’s a festival of lights, let’s stick to it and celebrate it that way and don’t hurt anyone. Don’t burn pataka, be one!”

“When I was young, I enjoyed cracking crackers, and my father bought me a lot of them. But growing up, I started to understand the dangers it can cause – the noise and air pollution that follows. Then I decided to stop cracking crackers. Now that I have dogs in the house, I see how much they are affected by fireworks around them. This was the biggest reason I stopped and ended it. Now I believe in peaceful Diwali”

I don’t like crackers because they disturb and harm street dogs. These animals also have no shelter to save themselves. I don’t believe this should be a way to celebrate the festival, as we also need to consider the safety and protection of street animals. It is our duty to take care of things so that no one is harmed. Some patients and elderly people are also bothered by the sound of the crackers and that’s another reason. I believe Diwali can be celebrated by spending quality time with family, with peace and joy.
