Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy Teases Return of Star Wars Follow-up characters

While the Star Wars saga has yet to return to the sequel years, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has previously teased the return of the newly introduced characters. “We’re going beyond the existing sequels when we look at our movie space,” Kennedy said in May. “The sequel era]is what we talk about a lot in terms of where we’re going with our movies, and how far we’re going to go from there. That’s very much the space we focus on.”

If Lindelof’s Star Wars film indeed returns to the world created in the Disney sequel trilogy, but not the Skywalker Saga, then this would suggest that the likes of Daisy Ridley’s Rey, John Boyega’s Finn and Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron will take center stage and make their own stories away of the legacy characters. Of course, they weren’t the only characters to be introduced to a galaxy far, far away (and some of the actors involved have stated they’re not interested in coming back for more), with Lindelof showing off a whole host of new faces and worlds to explore. to play with. If nothing else, hopefully it should be interesting to see what happened to the galaxy after the end of the Disney trilogy.

Damon Lindelof will collaborate with fellow writer Justin Britt-Gibson, with Mrs. Marvel director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy tapped the helm of the Star Wars project. Lindelof is expected to bring the same twists that he has shown in, among other things, Lost, Guardians, and the leftovers to the iconic franchise.

Damon Lindelof’s Star Wars The film doesn’t have a release date yet, though reports claim it could get the December 2025 release date carved into the calendar.
