The Fallen Jokes on ‘The View’ Were Ted Cruz’s Real Hecklers Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar (VIDEO)

Jimmy Fallon has some thoughts about who teased and abused Ted Cruz during his appearance on “The View” this week, and it’s not activists who have claimed responsibility. No, the late night host joked that it was, in fact, Whoopi Goldberg and Joey Behar.

“The View” turned into chaos on Monday morning as audience members vehemently protested Ted Cruz’s appearance. After repeatedly chanting “Cover Climate Now”, an audience member eventually said “F—you Ted Cruz, you climate-denying piece of S—”, forcing the show to go commercial as the hosts were shocked and angry. But according to Fallon, it was actually the hosts—who have long been vocal against Cruise—who upset the man.

“Don’t worry, after a few minutes, security was able to remove Joey and Whoopi from the set,” Fallon joked.

In fact, Joy Behr wasn’t even present on Monday’s show because it was her scheduled day, and Goldberg actually yelled at the protesters herself. “Excuse me! Ladies, ladies! Excuse us! Let us do our thing,” said Whoopi. “Let’s do our thing. We hear what you have to say, but you have to go! You have to go You have to let us do our job.”

Fallon acknowledged the fact that actual climate change activism groups had claimed responsibility for the incident, but offered another possibility. “Some hecklers were climate activists, the rest were a bunch of moms who were mad that Ted Cruz was the guest they were seeing on ‘The View,'” he joked. “Like ‘Come on!'”

After the incident, Cruz himself removed the protesters. “I joked later, ‘I’m glad he didn’t have a Van Gogh painting in the background, these nuts must have thrown soup at him! He said in an interview with Megyn Kelly just hours later.
