Jason Bateman, Jude Law Developing Netflix Limited Series

Despite “Ozark” finale, Jason Bateman hasn’t quite been done at Netflix: Actor-director is co-developing a new limited series with Jude Law to streamer titled “Black Rabbit,” in which they will both star and executive yield.

While plot details are being kept secret, the one-hour show is based on an original idea, with Oscar-nominated “King Richard” writers Zack Bellin and Kate Sussman writing the teleplay. Both the production company Youngblood Pictures, Bateman’s Aggregate Films and Law’s Riff Raff Entertainment are behind the effort.

As noted, the project — if Greenlight — would mark Bateman’s return to the streaming platform, following his starring turn in one of its flagship and early originals, “Ozark.”

Bateman, who won a directing Emmy for his work on the show, is also known for “Arrested Development” and “The Outsider”. His film credits include “Bad Words,” “Zootopia,” “Juno” and “Game Night.” Next, he will star opposite Taron Egerton in the Netflix-Amblin thriller ‘Carry On’. He also stars in Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s upcoming untitled film about Sonny Vaccaro (Damon), the Nike marketing executive who signed Michael Jordan to an endorsement deal in the 1980s.

Law is a two-time Oscar nominee best known for his starring roles in “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” “Closer,” “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” “Sherlock Holmes” and “The Holiday.” Next on his docket is portraying Captain Hook in Disney+’s “Peter Pan & Wendy,” playing Henry VIII opposite Alicia Vikander’s Queen Catherine Parr in the historical thriller drama film “Firebrand.” He is also in production for “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew”.
