Jon Stewart Roasts Team Trump’s Way Around Voters

Jon Stewart isn’t the first to say that a midterm election in just 10 days is the most important America has faced in modern history. But on his Friday night Apple TV+ show “The Problem with Jon Stewart,” he also pointed out that the game and all the rules that go with it have changed. And who loses in the end – the voter.

“The 2022 mid-term election is finally upon us. It turns out that the final test of democracy is not the vote, but the acceptance of the said vote. And our two current presidents agree,” he says with a “yes, right” grin.

“Ultimately, Trump’s election challenges, whether in the courts or through audits, have well and accurately shown this past presidential election. And his own Department of Homeland Security said as much,” Stewart said in his monologue. “But instead of being humbled at the holy altar of democracy, Trump and his team were encouraged to work out a way around the one thing that came their way – the voter.”

Stewart produced a compilation of clips that show, in no uncertain terms or ambiguity, that Trump’s team is establishing a means to its end to come and stay in power.

“We’re going to take over the election system,” Steve Bannon said in a quick cut. “Volunteer to become an election officer. Run for county clerk and overthrow these county clerks. Handle the secretaries of state. ,

“I cannot stress enough how important state offices are,” Nevada Secretary of State candidate Jim Merchant said at a rally. “We control the election system.”

Stewart pointed out that elections are run by administrators, who are partisan, but “not thinkers, or enthusiastic, or crazy people.” And they have been in those positions for a very long time. So how, exactly, do you get rid of them? Threats and threats.

“One in six election workers reports that they are being bullied or harassed. One in three has stepped down due to security concerns, and perhaps the most incredible part, which is a potential threat to the very existence of everything that has been built in this country over the past few hundred years, has led to the plan. The secret isn’t how,” Stewart said.

“If you look at the way the ballots are counted,” he said, citing a clip of Donald Trump at a rally. Remember, the ballot counter is far more important in our country than the candidate.
