“The funny thing is when young people approach me on the street, they just want to know when X factor come back,” he says. “They all watch it on YouTube. When we finished the show I really thought there was no need – that everyone would be signed by YouTube. But there are so many people who want to be signed that we could use this additional platform.”
Cowell said he would “just do it one more time” if The x factor goes “back to where the show began” and finds “some great people and creates those TV moments that live forever.”
“There would have to be a real opportunity to do it the way it was in the early years, and I would only do it with someone who was really passionate about it,” he added. “I would also bring back the managers and A&R [artists and repertoire] Guys, instead of letting artists judge talent because I don’t think that’s great.”
Cowell acknowledged having the proposals The x factor If he falls behind, he would “love to do more mentoring.”
