Ace director Siddharth Anand says the idea behind secretly dropping the teaser of Pathan was to celebrate Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday with his countless fans around the world! Part of Aditya Chopra’s spy universe, Yash Raj Films’ visually spectacular action extravaganza, Pathaan, features the country’s biggest superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.

Siddharth says, “The craze for a glimpse of Pathan has been unprecedented. After a long, long time, there’s a crazy buzz for a movie that’s real and organic. And it’s all thanks to the superstardom of this one man – Shah Rukh Khan. His fans, and we’re talking millions of them, have begged for just a glimpse of him and his film. And so there couldn’t be a better day to release the teaser of Pathan then SRK’s birthday!”
The director adds: “He really has been ruling the hearts and minds of audiences for decades and Pathan marks his return to the big screen after a hiatus of four long years. So while we decided to surprise them all on his birthday, the pressure to deliver was enormous.”
Siddharth says, given the huge expectations of fans, the teaser of Pathan had to deliver the goods. He says, “We had to create a unit that justifies their waiting to see something of it Pathan as well as the fact that we chose his birthday to release the film’s first big asset! It had to be spectacular and memorable at the same time and I think we managed to make them really happy given the incredible response we’re seeing to Pathaan’s teaser.”
He adds: “For us Pathan is not just a movie, it is an emotion as we strive to create the greatest action spectacle with one of the greatest icons on screen of all time that Indian cinema has ever seen. The teaser is just the beginning to deliver on that promise on the big screen on January 25, 2023!”
Pathan has the biggest on-screen combinations in the history of Indian cinema, given their epic blockbusters Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express and Happy New Year. SRK and DP hissed in Spain recently as leaked photos of the sets took the internet by storm. The glamorous duo shot a huge mounted number in Mallorca while SRK was pampered with an eight-pack and DP her perfect bikini body. They then went to Cadiz and Jerez in Spain, where they completed the schedule on March 27.
