What’s hot?

Samantha delivered her best performance in her career. She is excellent as Yashoda. She perfectly conveys the fear, frustration and emotions of a helpless and restless woman. The action stunt sequences are also awe-inspiring and Samantha really outdid herself. Especially considering her health condition, and that too, without informing the makers of the film, she did her best and lived up to the expectations of the audience and her fans.

The characters of actors Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Unni Mukundan are surprise packages. Both versatile actors will blow your mind on the silver screen with their performances. Actors Kalpika Ganesh and Divya Sripada have done well as Samantha’s fellow surrogate wives. Murali Sharma, Sampath and Shatru will play police officers and they will bring out the whole story.

Directors Hari and Harish Narayana have come up with a script without loopholes. The screenplay is to the point and every scene has meaning and reason. They exposed the mafia behind surrogacy by adding a lot of emotions to the story. With unpredictable and unexpected twists, they did an excellent job in writing. Pulagam Chinnarayana and Bhagyalakshmi Challa, the dialogue writers, deserve a special mention here.

Art Director Ashok’s set is impeccable. The production design is also an amazing and very small feature that can be seen on the screen. Samantha’s costumes from Preetham Jukalker feel like fresh air on screen and are very soothing to the eyes. Mani Sharma’s music and background score elevate every scene, especially the ones that are full of emotions. Kudos to producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad for leaving no stone unturned when it comes to spending money on this project.

Action choreographers, Yanick Ben and Venkat have choreographed some hair-raising, hair-raising stunt sequences.

What not?

Initially, the story sounds and feels boring. The directors took a lot of time to develop the story and take us into the actual plot. Some scenes in the facility feel unnecessary. The film would have been a lot sharper if such scenes had been avoided or removed.

BL verdict:

Samantha is again a hero of the movie. This actress has proven herself to be one of the most versatile and affordable actors in the country. Also, she is back on screen after two long years and that is what makes film especially worth watching.

BL rating: 3.5 stars
