Viola Davis Eyes EGOT after a Grammy-nominated audiobook

Viola Davis has a chance to join the coveted EGOT list after her memoir “Finding Me” was nominated for a Grammy Tuesday for Best Audiobook, Narration and Narration Recording.

If he wins, Davis would become the 18th person to earn the EGOT distinction. Other EGOTs include Whoopi Goldberg, John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Alan Menken, and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The 57-year-old actress and producer was awarded the Triple Crown of Acting after winning a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for 2016’s “Fences.” Prior to the Oscar, Davis won an Emmy in 2015 for “How to Get Away With Murder.” ” and Tonys in 2001 and 2010 for “King Hedley II” and “Fences”, respectively.

Davis’ competitors in the Best Audio Book category include EGOT-earning Mel Brooks, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jamie Foxx and QuestLove.

Brooks is nominated for his memoir “All About Me: My Remarkable Life In Show Business By Mel Brooks,” Miranda is nominated for “Aristotle and Dante Dive Into the Waters of the World,” Foxx is nominated for his memoir “Act Like You Got Some Common Sense” and QuestLove is nominated for “Music Is History”.

The 65th Annual Grammy Awards will air live Sunday, February 5 on CBS and will stream live on Paramount+.
