Namita Thapar breaks silence on Ashneer Grover’s ouster; says, ‘One person doesn’t make or break a show’

After the massive success of season one, Shark Tank India will soon start streaming the second season and the makers have already locked up their sharks for the corporate reality hybrid show. However, it turned out that former BharatPe founder and CEO Ashneer Grover from the second season was dropped and replaced by a new shark Amit Jain (CEO and co-founder – Cardekho Group, InsuranceDekho.com). Without mentioning Ashneer in her tweet, Namita wrote: “One person doesn’t make or break a show…not me, nobody…this show is about celebrating our entrepreneurs, job creators…it’s about teaching tons of business concepts through beautiful stories from these nation builders. focus on that and the team’s hard work.” Also Read – Shark Tank India 2: Amit Jain replaces Ashneer Grover; here’s what you need to know about all sharks

When a Twitter user said the show wasn’t a real investor pitch and just another reality show to win TRP, Namita fired back at the user. She responded that it’s her real money she’s putting into it and further dismissed the user by saying that “it’s easy to talk and whine and judge… hard to give time, energy, mentorship and money. ” She then added in a separate tweet, “Let’s see if authenticity and cause win out over judgment and toxicity! What does New India really want from life?”

On the other hand, Ashneer has written his memoir called Doglapan (Double Standards) – The Harsh Truth About Life and Startups, which is available for pre-orders and will be available next month. Billed as an “untethered tale of Ashneer Grover – Startup India’s favorite and misunderstood poster boy”, the memoir has been called a “raw, heartbreaking in its honesty and completely from the heart, storytelling at its finest”.
