While the beloved actors from the original films won’t be returning, Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah rises again will do its best to honor their legacy. The new voice actors will put their own spin on the characters, though they want to continue the personality they started with Night at the museum in 2006.

During an interview with Colliderproducer Shawn Levy discussed the project and their hopes for the characters. “I’m very active in the production of it. I’ve seen two of the three acts in animation form,” explains Levy. “It’s kind of its own thing, but very, very true to the legacy of those characters in that title.”

It will be difficult to follow up on the performances of Robin Williams, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Rami Malek and Steeve Coogan. However, the new actors are just as talented and ready to give their take on the characters. The public can see the fourth entry in the franchise on December 9, when Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah rises again hits Disney+.
