Mrunal Thakur makes her Southern debut opposite Dulquer Salmaan in Sita Ramam, which also features Rashmika Mandanna. While we’ve had many glimpses of her character Sita in the teaser and in her introductory video, her appearance is described as “ethereal” in the romantic drama of the time.

Their upcoming romantic drama, set in 1965, chronicles the magical story of Ram and Sita. At the same time, we see Mrunal Thakur in a never-before-seen look, donning a traditional outfit with a vintage charm in the film. Also adding to her character is her coy expressions and beaming smile. A source close to the actress described her character, adding: “She emotes through her eyes and the love she has for Aries is indispensable. She will be seen with the kind of chemistry that only everlasting love with Dulquer Salmaan brings.”
About how recognizable Sita is to her, Mrunal Thakur said: “Sita is someone who is extremely graceful and someone who is empathetic, she is kind and humble. And I realized a lot about this empathetic side of the character. Not only that, Sita is extremely decisive, doesn’t wait for someone else to decide for her and is fiercely independent she knows what she wants and she is very romantic which is exactly who i am so these are the few similarities i could tell you about sita and my real personality.”
Presented by National Award-winning Vyjayanthi Movies & produced by C Aswani Dutt for Swapna Cinema, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, with cinematography by PS Vinod, music by Vishal Chandrasekhar & choreography by Brinda Master, Sita Ramam stars Dulquer Salmaan, Rashmika Mandanna and Mrunal Thakur in lead roles. The film is slated for release on August 5 in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
