MultiVersus developer teases the addition of Walter White from Breaking Bad

A developer of the crossover fighting game MultiVersus offered a promising response to a fan campaign to add Walter White.

Break bad protagonist Walter White may have been able to overcome nefarious foes like Gustavo Fring, but how would he compare to Batman, Shaggy, Gizmo, and Bugs Bunny? If the character played by Bryan Cranston makes it to the crossover fighting game MultiVersus, fans could actually find the answer to that question. Released last year, MultiVersus is a free Nintendo-style game Super Smash Bros. franchise. Included are several characters from the Warner Bros. Discovery library, which has resulted in the game’s playable roster becoming very random with playable fighters ranging from the Iron Giant and Arya Stark to Steven Universe and Rick and Morty.

There has been a popular fan campaign on social media to add Walter White to the game’s roster as a playable character. Since Sony owns the rights to Break bad, some rights issues will need to be resolved before that can happen, but the fans are nevertheless working to make the dream come true. Now, per ComicBook. comfans got a tease from senior character artist Dan Eder, who gave a vague but promising response to the suggestion of putting Heisenberg in the game.

“The only way I’m going to have a good 2023 is if we see Walter White come in MultiVersus that year,” tweeted an account created for the fan campaign.

“Expect good things,” Eder replied directly.

In theory, he could appear in other mediums, such as in the video game world, perhaps with Cranston reprising the role by doing voiceover work. In any case, it’s starting to look like the fan campaign is the MultiVersus developers are considering a revival of Heisenberg by getting him in the game.
