Mark Patton of 2 A Nightmare on Elm Street hospitalized, fundraiser launched for healthcare

Horror fans have donated to a fundraiser launched to transfer Mark Patton to a facility where he will receive better care for his illness.


Favorite in the horror genre Mark Patton struggles with his health in a hospital, and he is summoned A nightmare on Elm Street fans for help. Patton, who played Jesse Walsh A Nightmare at 2 Elm Street: Freddy’s Revengewas more recently the subject of the critically acclaimed documentary Scream, Queen! My nightmare on Elm Street. As someone who loves his fans dearly, Patton has regularly attended fan conventions and interacted with fans online on a regular basis.


Now many are giving back to Patton at a time when he needs the help. The actor has been hospitalized in Mexico with AIDS-related complications. Given the language barrier and the facility being overwhelmed with Covid patients, Patton is not getting the adequate care he needs. In order to be transferred to another facility where he will receive more targeted treatment, Patton and his manager, Peter Valderrama, have launched a fundraiser on GoFundMe calling on everyone to donate what they can to help Patton.

“He has been ill for quite some time – it was originally thought to be the aftershocks of covid and some serious infections that could potentially be handled with care and rest. But now it is very clearly AIDS-related conditions that he has under control,” says Valderrama. says on the GoFundMe page, explaining why Patton had to cancel a scheduled fan appearance. “He’s been quiet for his own privacy, but with the cancellation of his music box theater and horror house store events, he’s decided to release his news in hopes that his community could help.”

“I just want to be healthy and home with my family,” Patton also said in a statement on the GoFundMe page. some years have been financially crippling for me. I have always lived month to month and have struggled with medical visits since October. If anyone can contribute, it would be a life-saving option for me to recuperate in a place appropriate to my condition.”
