Apple pulls the plug on The Mosquito Coast.

It’s the end of the line for it The mosquito coast. After two seasons, it has been revealed that Apple TV+ has canceled the show and will not continue with Season 3. The show originally premiered on the streamer in 2021 and Season 2 dropped on Apple TV+ in November. The streamer debuted on January 6 on the season finale, which now serves as the series finale.

In a sense, the story will move forward as the series essentially served as a prequel story leading up to the events of the original books on which the story is based. There was still room to possibly go one more season before that gap was completely bridged, as Theroux explained deadline before the cancellation where season 3 could go as The mosquito coast is being renewed.

He continued, “You can’t put a wall around the utopia you’re building, and people from the outside are moving in. That happened in the book, the movie, and if there’s a third season, it would be about being invaded by people. outside, looking to take advantage of them.”
