Wanda Sykes mocks Trump at Diamond Funeral

Twice-impeached former President Donald Trump delivered a eulogy this week for Diamond, one half of the singing duo “Diamond and Silk,” which became a mainstay at Trump rallies. But Wanda Sykes, guest host on “The Daily Show,” is pretty sure her praise killed both women.

Heera was a COVID denier and anti-vaxxer who died on January 9. almost certainly from COVID-19, by coincidence. And, during his eulogy, Trump said that he really only knew Diamond, despite the fact that she and her sister regularly performed together for Trump rallies and even attended his Used to hold meetings together.

“I thought I knew both of them. I didn’t,” Trump said during his speech at the funeral. “I knew Diamond, but I didn’t know Silk at all. I just learned about silk.”

And at that point, Sykes was really amused.

“It’s like Trump showed up at that funeral like, ‘Diamond is dead, but I’m gonna bury Silk,'” Sykes joked. “‘Oh yes, there’s room for two people in that ark.’ I meant come on. Saying you know Diamond but not Silk because they’re always together. It’s like saying, ‘I know Burt, but I’ve never heard of this Ernie dude. ‘”

That said, Sykes wasn’t exactly surprised by Trump’s words. According to the comedian, he probably encounters black women all the time.

“Knowing Trump, his mind only has room for one black woman at a time. If he turns on the TV now, he’ll be like, ‘Wow, Diamond’s hosting The Daily Show! You know, a week ago, she died, but thanks to me, she’s risen!'”
