Pathaan, the film has become an emotion for Shah Rukh Khan fans. The Badshah of Bollywood is back after a hiatus of four long years. Besharam Rang and the trailer received a lot of response from the audience. The controversy has also created huge excitement around the film. A self-proclaimed action movie buff, Shah Rukh Khan teams up with Siddharth Anand who has a reputation for making some of Bollywood’s best actors.
What is it about…
Pathaan (Shah Rukh Khan), a top spy, has been missing for a few years. He must end his exile when a rogue soldier, Jim (John Abraham), now a contract terrorist, has turned his evil eyes on his former motherland. The mission is one and the same to save Mother India from a deadly lab generated virus. Rubina (Deepika Padukone) accompanies him on the mission in a mysterious character. How he knows how to play savior in what matters. Pretty simple and basic.

What’s hot
Siddharth Anand is a big fan of action movies and knows how to present his protagonist well. Shah Rukh Khan’s entry is great. The background track improved it 10x. The film is lightning fast and moves lightning fast. Shah Rukh Khan seems to enjoy playing an action hero. He brings in the machismo, swag and charm in equal measure. Fans will also love the film’s stunt choreography. The action scenes shot in the frozen lake and train deserve a special mention. John Abraham is sizzling and excels in the role of a villain driven by personal tragedy. Dimple Kapadia is serious in her role which reminds us of M from the James Bond movie. Some dialogues are funny. The piece de resistance is the succession of Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. Their bromance will make you whistle and how. Deepika Padukone is super hot and fans will be reminded of Race 3 and Cocktail in terms of glamour. Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika share moments of tenderness and sexual tension that prove their great chemistry. Siddharth Anand does a good job delivering a masala film.
What not
The predictable storyline is the film’s weakest link. But it doesn’t annoy you because the screenplay is captivating. The VFX of the jetpack scene could have been a bit better. Critics will argue that it has nothing in terms of story that hasn’t been done before.
Verdict
Pathaan is one of the best action movies made in India. It’s a visual treat. Shah Rukh Khan proves again why he is king. His dedication to his craft and audience will make you see Jhoom in the theaters and how.
