Jenna Ortega says playing Wednesday had a strange effect on her dress sense

Black is Jenna Ortega’s color, or at least it follows her role as Wednesday.

There are plenty of actors who claim to get almost too engrossed in their characters, but for Jenna Ortega, Wednesday’s playing had an unexpected impact on her real life. While there were plenty of people who wondered if Jenna Ortega could also live up to expectations Wednesday, the actress put all doubts aside very quickly when Netflix’s Addams Family series became one of the biggest streaming releases ever. After playing Gomez and Morticia’s dark-skinned daughter, Ortega noticed something strange happening with her choice of clothes.

Ortega recently spoke to The cut, revealing that while playing Wednesday gave her plenty of chances to dress in black, discovering that her real life wardrobe was inadvertently inspired by her character’s style. She said:

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

“When I was at work on Wednesday, all of a sudden I only wore black. I didn’t know why. For some reason my closet just lost all its color. But I’ve played characters where, no matter how good or comfortable I felt in the clothes, it’s just not something I would normally wear or think is a good representation of myself.

It seems Wednesday’s love of black resonated with the actress, and it’s a good thing considering she’ll be returning to play the character again in a second series of the spooky drama. But before that, Ortega will step into her role Scream VIand once again adopting a horror icon who also likes to wear black… albeit with red stripes.

Ghostface has never been a laughing stock, but has had plenty of comedic moments over the course of five previous movies. This time, however, Jenna Ortega believes Ghostface’s latest incarnation is much scarier than in the past. She previously said:

“I think Ghostface is much more of a creepy figure. I feel like we’ve always seen him as kind of a clumsy, funny almost killer. What I think in this one is he actually, a lot of the dead are very visceral and very , kinda tragic in a way which provided this more dramatic vibe but I still think we can strike a good balance between comedy and that sort of thing but I think audiences need to be prepared for it to be a little bit more of a rollercoaster , more than anything else.”

Ortega has already survived one round with Ghostface as Tara Carpenter, but it usually doesn’t end well for someone coming back for seconds. although scream veteran Courteney Cox returns for the sixth time, the fate of everyone and everyone is up for grabs when the killing begins. Returning from 2022 scream with Ortega are Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding. Hayden Panettiere is also back to reprise her role from Scream 4.

Scream VI hits theaters March 10.
