Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reveals the cast of its new movie

Giancarlo Esposito, Maya Rudolph, Jackie Chan and John Cena are some of the names aboard Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem


Seth Rogen brings the iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles back into the world with an animated film titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant mayhemand he’s assembled an amazing cast to play the main characters in this wacky and colorful adventure.


Rogen presented the list of actors and actresses, including some of the big Hollywood names who will be part of the highly anticipated project to bring New York City’s street heroes back to our screens. The 4 turtles are played by Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu and Brady Noon, who will voice Donatello, Michelangelo, Leonardo and Raphael respectively.

They will be joined by some very familiar voices: Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog; Rose Byrne as Leatherhead; John Cena as Rocksteady; Jackie Chan as Splinter; Ice Cube as Superfly; Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut; Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil; Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman; Post Malone as Ray Filet; Paul Rudd as Mondo Gekko; and Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom.

This was announced on Saturday in the Kid’s Choice Awards stage, where Rogen was joined by the main cast members to introduce the movie, which will come from Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon Movies and Point Gray Productions.

In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant MayhemAfter years of being shielded from the human world, the Turtle brothers wanted to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic deeds. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon become upset when an army of mutants is unleashed on them.

The film will hit theaters on August 4, 2023 and will be made in a CG animated format that will combine the classic look of the Turtles from the 1980s animated series that made them a worldwide hit, with new techniques to bring the story to a new audience.

The classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles followed the charismatics Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael, four anthropomorphic turtle brothers trained in jiu-jitsu who fight evil on the streets of New York City and live in the sewers to hide. Supporting characters include the turtles’ rat sensei Splinter, their human friends April O’Neil and Casey Jones, and enemies such as Baxter Stockman, Krang, and their nemesis, the Shredder.
