“Gotham Knights” has arrived on The CW, introducing not only Batman’s adopted son, but the children of some of his most famous scoundrels. This includes Duela, who is apparently the Joker’s daughter – but is that really her true identity? Well, Misha Collins won’t confirm or deny.
The situation is this: Duela (Olivia Rose Keegan) is a cunning, perhaps eccentric young thief, whom we meet in the first episode of the new series. He’s surrounded by Harper (Fallon Smythe) and Cullen (Tyler DiChiara), and together, the three of them are paid to break into Wayne Tower and steal a very specific gun. But, as it turns out, he was hired to do that job as a means of framing him for the murder of Bruce Wayne, who of course turned out to be Batman.
Naturally, the kids are arrested, and during Duela’s interrogation, Harvey Dent (Misha Collins) arrives, slaps a certain playing card on the table, and asks if she is really the Joker’s daughter. Is. It sure seems But There is a catch.
See, in previous iterations of Duela — both in the comics and in The CW’s last Bat show, “Batwoman” — she’s actually Duela. bite mark, Now, we wouldn’t blame you for not knowing this, considering it’s pretty deep cut for anyone who mostly knows Bat lore from on-screen. Even Misha Collins was shocked when we asked him for a straight answer. And no, he won’t really give a hard answer.
“I can’t tell you anything,” Collins told TheWrap with a laugh. “I’m sorry. I have a fifth request here. I’ve been very good. I’ve done a lot of interviews so far, and I’ve been very good at answering all the questions that come my way. And I don’t think my There’s no way to answer yours without spoiling anything. So I’m just going to ask for a fifth.
Admittedly, it certainly seems like some Dent family drama may be surfacing, but it’s impossible to know for sure.
Because, here’s the other thing about Duela Dent. In the comics, she has claimed to be the daughter of several Batman villains, from Catwoman to The Riddler, from The Penguin to the Scarecrow. In the final season of “Batwoman”, she was actually Harvey Dent’s niece. So really, Duela could have any number of connections to these Gotham villains.
We’ll just have to wait to find out.
