Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving movie has started production

Eli Roth brings Thanksgiving to the big screen years after appearing as a mock trailer featured in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s Gravel houseand the movie brings some big names to the horror offering. deadline reported that in addition to Patrick Dempsey, Nell Verlaque, Addison Rae, Jalen Thomas Brooks and Milo Manheim, Gina Gershon, Tim Dillon and Rick Hoffman will also join the ensemble.

Sony Pictures teased the start of production on the new movie with an image of a director’s chair holding a very nasty-looking axe, and with Roth’s name and title of the movie in bloody letters.

For those who haven’t seen the original “fake trailer” for the movie in Rodriguez and Tarantino’s gory romp, deadline was able to provide a quick reminder of the film’s 15-year start. The summary reads:

“The Thanksgiving trailer presented the gory teaser about a pseudo-movie in which a slasher makes his own cutting board out of the residents of a Massachusetts town that makes a big fuss over the annual turkey day. One of the pivotal scenes involved Roth himself, severed head over heels in the throes of passion with a date in a convertible. It was so popular that plans were formulated to have a long blood fest with Roth at the helm, but 15 years have passed since the original Grindhouse release and you might think Thanksgiving would never come.

Every once in a while there are fake movie moments that lead to real projects later on over time. When he was making the trailer for Thanksgiving in 2007, Roth had already planned the entire movie he was promoting. At the time he noted:

“My friend Jeff, who plays the killer pilgrim — we grew up in Massachusetts, we were big fans of slasher movies, and every November we waited for the Thanksgiving slasher movie. We had the whole movie worked out: a kid falling in love is on a turkey and then his daddy killed him and then he killed his family and went off to a mental institution and came back and got his revenge on the town I called Jeff and said ‘Dude guess what we don’t have to worry the movie, we can just shoot the best parts.'”

All that is guaranteed is that all the gore, gore, nakedness, and depravity that the Gravel house trailers have already produced – Rodriguez’s Machete and Jason Eisener’s Wanderer with a shotgun – will be brought to the party during Thanksgiving and gives hope to the other trailers, which were from Rob Zombie Werewolf Women of the SS and that of Edgar Wright Do notcould ever become a reality.

There is currently no release date for it Thanksgivingbut now that the movie is in production, it’s likely we’ll be hearing a lot more about the movie in the coming months.
