How ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ Drama Overwhelmed in ‘Ultimate Girls Trip’ Season 3

After filming a dramatic season of “The Real Housewives of Potomac,” both Giselle Bryant and Candiace Dillard are part of Peacock’s third “Ultimate Girls Trip” to vacation in Thailand and meet other housewives from “The Real Housewives” franchise. were watching as But wherever these outspoken wives go, drama inevitably follows.

Filming for “Girls Trip” took place in July 2022, two weeks after Season 7 of “Potomac” had wrapped production, but was taped before the end of the season.

“this was it Earlier I saw the episodes, I didn’t see any season 7,” Dillard told The Wrap in an interview ahead of the premiere of “Girls Trip” on Thursday, March 23.that’s importantshe insisted.

“We [Gizelle and I] Dillard continued, based on what I knew, the end of season 7 had found a perfect place. “If I knew everything I know now, we would not be in such a good place. I mean, I’m clearly still gone because ‘one lying monkey doesn’t stop a show,’ as they say. But I would have definitely kept a little more distance.”

What Dillard “now knows” is that Bryant spent much of Season 7 trying to bring her to a face-to-face conversation with Dillard’s husband, Chris Bassett. Bryant repeatedly said on the show and in interviews that his private conversations with Bassett—which took place behind closed doors—were didn’t make her feel comfortable, Bassett says nothing untoward happened.

Despite not having seen any footage from season 7 prior to the trip to Thailand, Dillard said something in his gut told him to be cautious around “Potomac’s” teammates.

“We were supposed to travel together,” Dillard explained. “And I remember feeling nervous that I had to travel with her because I wasn’t totally comfortable when I was trying to move.”

“When you are traveling with people, you are codependent in a way. You’re looking for each other,” Dillard continued. “And I wasn’t in a place to be around him, or look out for him or have him look out for me, because I wasn’t sure I trusted him.”

With hindsight, Dillard believes his instincts about Bryant were correct.

“Jump ahead a few months when our show airs, and you see her doing all these different versions of the story talking about Chris and really inciting him as ‘the stalker’ with these buzzwords.” trying to. And then doing these interviews where she’s doubling down on what she said and changing her story and giving different versions of it – it was all a cluster beep. So yeah, I’m glad I listened to my instincts.

When asked, Bryant told TheWrap that she was also “cool” with Dillard before she came to Thailand.

“We were in a good place!” Bryant told TheWrap. “We put everything that happened in the season to bed. And we were totally fine with it and moved on. But in typical Candice fashion, she wanted to bring it back, she talked about it over and over again.” wanted to talk. And it was like that, unnecessary, and it didn’t need to happen. But you know, she had her own agenda.

So who exactly brought the Chris Bassett drama to Thailand? As much as Bryant is known for prodding, it was actually Dillard who brought it up to the rest of the “Girls Trip” cast, including “Miami’s” Alexia Napola and Marisol Patton, “New York’s” Leah McSweeney, “Salt Lake” Are. Heather Gay and Whitney Rose, and “Atlanta” Porsha Williams.

The drama plays out in the first three episodes of “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip,” which streams Thursdays on Peacock. Watch the trailer below:
