Gaslight is a highly anticipated murder mystery thriller starring Sara Ali Khan, Vikrant Massey and Chitrangada Singh. Rahul Dev also plays a prominent role as a police officer investigating the murder. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Life, the actor shared his experiences working on Gaslight and with co-stars. The actor spoke fondly of Sara Ali Khan calling her a self-proclaimed star at an early stage of her career. Read on to know what he has more to say about other protagonists.
When asked what it was like working on the film, Rahul Dev replied: “It was fun. I like Vikrant’s work. I mean wherever I’ve seen him before, I really like what he does. So it was great to see him again. And as for the others, Sara, I thought it was very sincere. For every shot she tried, she was really, really, you could see that, you know, the other person is really trying really hard and doing the best and it’s a big risk. She took control of her career very early in life. The film rests on her shoulders, so it was a nice experience.”
He added: “Chitrangada Singh has been around for a while now so she is not exactly a newcomer now. She’s been working for a long time and doing a really good job and she’s good at Gaslight.” Of the film, he said, “Most of the roles are a little twisted in the sense of the characters, not the actors. So it adds to the confusion of the movie. The film is absolutely nail-biting and audiences will like it a lot.
Gaslight investigates the story of Misha returning to her royal family to meet her estranged father only to discover he has been murdered. It’s intriguing to see how the story unfolds and who the killer is or the person is a family member. The murder mystery is directed by Pavan Kirpalani who co-wrote it with Neha Sharma. The film will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on March 31, 2023.
