Tom Savini appears to be involved in Peacock’s Friday the 13th Prequel Series

With pre-production on the Friday the 13th prequel series Crystal lake going on at Peacock, creator Brian Fuller teases the involvement of another major franchise star. That was revealed earlier Friday the 13th final girl Adrienne King was involved, though it’s not clear if she’s only working behind the scenes on the show or if she’ll have an on-screen role as well. A new image shared on social media by Fuller reveals him standing next to Tom Saviniteasing that the horror icon could very well be coming back to the lake too.

“TALKING STABBY CALENDAR DAYS WITH OG,” Fuller wrote alongside the image, which included the hashtags #FridayThe13th and #CrystalLake.

If Savini gets involved, it would reunite him with King. Savini worked on the original film, which included helping to design Jason Voorhees (Ari Lehman) as a kid before he emerges from the lake and pulls King’s character into the water. He also did the makeup effects for the popular fourth installment of the series, Friday the 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter. Because it’s not yet confirmed that Savini will actually be a part of it Crystal lakeit’s not clear if he would participate in the FX work or get involved creatively.

This comes days after King shared a similar image of himself with Fuller on Instagram. She talked about the encounter she had with him while teasing what Fuller has in store Friday the 13th fans with the upcoming show.

King’s message reads: “Happy Friday Campers! Bryan Fuller, our damn brilliant lead consultant/producer of CRYSTAL MORE, the upcoming series and I had another exciting meeting to inform me about what lies ahead at Camp Blood! Always fun and can’t wait to share some details!”

However, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the show Crystal lake has been described as an “elaborate prequel.” There had been speculation that rights issues meant the adult Jason Voorhees wearing the hockey mask couldn’t be included, perhaps leading to the prequel route, though Fuller would later clarify that he has access to everything from the franchise. Perhaps that means we’ll see some of the masked Jason after all, as the series goes on to dig into different parts of the timeline. But we’ll just have to wait and see to know for sure.

“We can use everything. We can go to hell, we can go to space. That doesn’t mean we do shall those things do…although if we Doing go 10 seasons, I will lobby hard to go to space,” Fuller said via Fangoria.
