Independent talent raised £7m from sale of ‘Killing Eve’ company Sid Gentle – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Independent Talent, the talent agency whose clients include Jodie Comer and Bill Nighy, has announced it has made £7.3million ($9million) from the sale of its stake kill Eve Producer Sid Gentle Films.

Independent Talent made an early investment in Sid Gentle, holding a 22.05% stake in the production company until last October, when BBC Studios took full control of the company.

Financial details of the deal with BBC Studios were not disclosed at the time, but a financial filing by Independent Talent with UK Companies House revealed the deal.

Independent talent pocketed £7.3million from sales of his take, valuing Sid Gentle at £33.1million following Emmy-winning success kill Eve.

BBC Studios owned 51% of Sid Gentle before last year’s deal, meaning they will have paid around £16m for the remaining 49% they didn’t previously own.

Since the transaction, Sid Gentle has secured a second season Extraordinarythe Disney+ superhero series written by newcomer Emma Moran.

Independent Talent’s filing with Companies House revealed that revenue for the 12 months to March 2022 was £43.2m, up almost 60% from £27.5m a year earlier. Independent Talent’s pre-tax profit was £4.4m.
