Seth Meyers mocks Trump for not drafting indictment social post

Seth Meyers is pretty sure Donald Trump’s social media posts following news of his impeachment last week were off the cuff, and he was stunned by it on Monday morning. According to the “Late Night” host, the twice-impeached former president definitely should have been prepared.

And in fairness, most sources reporting on Trump thought he was. On the March 21 episode of “The View,” former Trump White House staffer Alyssa Farrah Griffin said, “I’ve been talking to some people who are still semi-close to Trump who say he’s Very nervous. They feel that the arrest is coming.

And yet, in the eyes of Seth Meyers, Trump was one of several Republican figures who were “caught off guard” when the news broke.

“In fact, he apparently wasn’t so prepared, he didn’t have a social media post ready to go, as evidenced by the fact that his first comment about the news contained a typo that I consider a very Important words,” Meyers said.

That word was, of course, “accusation.” In Trump’s post, he wrote that he was “indicted” rather than “indicted” — but then again, Meyers could totally believe that Trump thought the words were interchangeable.

“He thinks they just asked the grand jury, ‘Can you tell if you think this guy paid a porn star?’ And they all do it,” Meyers joked, shaking his head.

But, at the end of the day, Meyers was just amazed Trump hadn’t prepared a post, given how inevitable the impeachment seemed.

,How Didn’t they have a pre-written social media post ready to go for the event? Meyers astounded. “It would be like British newspapers not having an obituary ready when the Queen dies.”
