San Diego Comic-Con 2022 is in full swing and Warner Bros.’ panels started in full swing. The studio revealed the first trailer of Zachary Levi starrer Shazam! Fury Of The Gods in Hall H amid a massive audience.
“I’ve missed you guys so much, I can’t even tell you,” Levi said during the SDCC panel. The trailer teased Zachary Levi’s Billy Batson (Asher Angel) turning into an adult superhero and already trying to understand where the therapist stands when it comes to superheroes. Along with his foster siblings, he’s ready to take on the villains Daughters of Atlas, led by franchise newcomer Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu who play Calypso. Newcomer Rachel Zegler plays the role of Antaeus and their first looks are revealed in the trailer.

“Zach, honey, honey, I had such a great time kicking you out,” joked Mirren who joined the panel via a zoom video call.
Shazam! Anger of the Gods, which continues the story of teenage Billy Batson who, upon chanting the magic word “SHAZAM!”, is transformed into his adult Superhero alter ego, Shazam. The film stars returning cast members Zachary Levi as Shazam; Asher Angel as Billy Batson; Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman; Adam Brody as superhero Freddy; Ross Butler as superhero Eugene; Meagan Good as superhero Darla; DJ Cotrona as Superhero Pedro; Grace Caroline Currey as Mary Bromfield / Superhero Mary; Faithe Herman as Darla Dudley; Ian Chen as Eugene Choi; Jovan Armand as Pedro Pena; Marta Milans as Rosa Vasquez; Cooper Andrews as Victor Vasquez; with Djimon Hounsou as the wizard. The cast will be joined by Rachel Zegler (“West Side Story”), Lucy Liu (“Kung Fu Panda” franchise), and Helen Mirren (“F9: The Fast Saga”). The film is directed by David F. Sandberg (“Shazam!,” “Annabelle: Creation”) and produced by Peter Safran. It was written by Henry Gayden and Chris Morgan, based on characters from DC; Shazam! was created by Bill Parker and CC Beck.
Shazam! Anger of the Godswhich opens in theaters internationally on December 15, 2022 and in North America on December 21, 2022.
