A person with knowledge of the matter exclusively told TheWrap that Tucker Carlson has “no clue” why he was fired Monday from his top-rated Fox News show. But the person suggested it may not have much to do with the lawsuit filed by her former booking producer, Abby Grossberg.
“She was in our office for several months. If [Carlson and Grossberg] Talked on the phone, I don’t remember it,” the person said. “If it was something new I would be shocked.”
“I don’t know why they canceled the show,” the person said.
Carlsen was abruptly fired Monday morning for reasons that have not been made public. According to Los Angeles Times This was somehow related to a lawsuit filed by former Fox News producer Abby Grossberg, who worked on Maria Bartiromo’s show for several years before moving to “Tucker Carlson Tonight” in 2022.
In Grossberg’s lawsuit, which she filed last month, she accused Fox News of coercing her to give misleading testimony in a defamation lawsuit filed by Dominion Voting Systems. She also said that she had personally witnessed sexist and anti-social behavior from her Fox News co-workers, particularly while working on Carlson’s show.
In addition, Grossberg said that he saw crude jokes about Maria Bartiromo’s sex life after Bartiromo’s departure from the show. according to the Los Angeles TimesGrossberg’s claims in the suit led to Fox News firing Carlson, a decision made personally by Rupert Murdoch.
“Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to separate,” Fox News Media said in a statement on Monday. “We thank him for his service to the network as a host and previously as a contributor.”
Carlson’s last program aired Friday, and “Fox News Tonight” will run at 8 p.m. ET beginning Monday “as an interim show with rotating Fox News personalities until a new host is named.”
