Getting cast as Supergirl The flash has resulted in Sasha Calle getting some nifty merchandise that looks like her, and that includes an all-new, officially licensed Barbie doll version of the character. On Twitter, Calle shared some images along with a video clip showing off her new Supergirl Barbie doll. She admits in the caption that she’s not quite sure “how to behave” with the doll, and one thing she’s decided on with it, as seen in her video, is playing with the mini-Supergirl, who next to a LEGO Batmobile. . What’s clear here is that the doll has made Calle very, very happy. You can see the message below.
Her tweet reads, “There is one [Barbie] that looks like me.. I don’t know how to act. I have taken her everywhere..flying around imagining laser eyes haha. Huge abrazos!! Todavia no me la creo.”
Calle has been quite open on social media about her enthusiasm for The flash. The film marks her first appearance in the role of Supergirl, and when the trailer was released in February, the young actress shared on Twitter how surprised she was to see herself in the red and blue tights in the film. Calle shared the trailer, calling playing the role one of her “greatest accolades” and looking forward to June 16 when the much-anticipated movie is finally released.
What Happens to Supergirl After the Flash?
For now, it’s unclear what will happen to Calle and her version of Supergirl after the release of The flash. There are no plans for her to reprise the role for a sequel or spin-off series, but it’s not out of the question either. James Gunn and Peter Safran have announced a super girl movie as part of their plans for the DCU, but they haven’t yet decided if that’s Calle’s going to be Supergirl or if they’re rebooting and casting someone new on the project like Gunn is doing with Superman: Legacy.
“We are all figuring it out. We don’t know yet,” said Gunn and Safran at the beginning of the year when discussing Calle’s future. “We’re pretty far from it Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.”
The flash launching to great success could lead to Calle returning as Supergirl. Fans were very excited about the movie, especially in part because of Michael Keaton’s long-awaited return as Batman, considering he hasn’t played that role in nearly three decades. There has also been a degree of controversy surrounding Ezra Miller’s involvement given the criminal charges and various allegations of problematic behavior leveled against them. It’s hard to say exactly how at this point The flash will prove at the box office when it is finally released after multiple delays.
The flash hits theaters on June 16, 2023.
