Bandaa star Manoj Bajpayee disagrees with OTT content being censored; says: ‘Leave it in the hands of the makers’ [EXCLUSIVE]

Now he is preparing for the release of his film Sirf Ek Bandaa Kafi Hai. He plays the role of a lawyer who takes on a case against a powerful Godman. The movie will be released on Zee 5. Manoj Bajpayee shares his thoughts on the debate over censoring OTT content

There is a big debate about censoring OTT content. There are many people who believe that OTT content should go through the censorship process. But Manoj Bajpayee doesn’t believe so. We asked him to share his thoughts on this and he said, “I disagree. I really disagree. When OTT came along, there was a lot of freedom. People were actually experimenting a lot.” They wanted to express themselves freely. But if you see it now, it’s come down. Now people behave very responsibly. Leave it to the creators how they want to do it. In Family Man itself or so many other movies like Gulmohar or Banda, we haven’t even uttered a swear word. Forget showing an intimate sequence. Why? Because we felt that this is not necessary. We do it in Family Man. We are very careful and cautious when it comes to abuses. We just don’t randomly go ahead and start using abuses. We do it specifically in specific places where it is creatively needed. We are not irresponsible people. He also spoke about The Family Man 3 and said that the cast is ready, but they have yet to sign the contract. However, he assured that the shooting for the same will start this year. Sadly, he confirmed that Gangs of Wasseypur 3 is off.
