Ranveer Singh’s nude photo shoot got him in trouble with a couple who filed an FIR against the actor for obscenity, hurting women’s feelings in general and insulting their modesty. The complaint was filed by a lawyer Vedika Chaubey and her husband Abhishek Chaubey, who runs an NGO. The fame of the Kapil Sharma Show Sumona Chakravarti has now expressed her support for Ranveer and his nude photoshoot which still ranks at the top of the internet.
Commenting on the FIR against Ranveer, Sumona wrote on Instagram: “I am a woman. Also my modesty is not offended, not my feelings hurt.” She also shared a screenshot of the chat with her mother, who shared her thoughts on Ranveer’s nude photoshoot by commenting on her previous Instagram stories. “The photos were amazing. God knows what feelings were hurt. Maybe they wanted to see more,” her mother wrote. Sumona shared: “This is what my mother, also a woman, had to say.”
In the tradition of Milind Soman, who did it first with Madhu Sapre, and more recently alone on a beach in Goa, Ranveer showed off his ripped body and taut muscles, looking straight out of an ancient Greek statue. By appearing naked in Paper magazine, Ranveer has clearly shown the distance he is willing to travel to be in the spotlight.
Ranveer will next star in Rohit Shetty’s next directorial Cirkus with Jacqueline Fernandes and Pooja Hegde. The film is slated for a Christmas 2022 release. It also features Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani starring Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan. The film was set to hit the big screen on February 11, 2023, but has now been postponed due to Alia’s pregnancy.
