During a blistering attack in which he intended to diss the launch of Ron DeSantis’ technically failed presidential campaign, Donald Trump Jr. made an online mistake of his own on Thursday: accidentally disparaging his father.
While boasting about DeSantis on the most recent edition of his online show “Trigger with Don Jr.”, Don Jr. said this:
“Once you really lay out the facts I think a different image is going to emerge… Trump has the charisma of a mortician, and the energy that makes Jeb Bush look like an Olympian.”
Trump Jr. did not correct himself, instead continuing with the monologue by calling out DeSantis on his flip-flopping and claiming he had “DC swamp rat policies.” (Though, syntactically, he was still talking about Donald Trump). Watch the full clip above (via Video Ron Filipkowski on Twitter,
Trump Jr. is far from the only person to try and capitalize on DeSantis’ rough take over the past 24 hours. The Florida governor launched his 2024 presidential campaign on Wednesday in an event on Twitter’s audio-only platform, Spaces. But to the chagrin of host Elon Musk and moderator David Sachs, the feed kept getting cut off, a problem exacerbated by the trio’s apparent discomfort even in using the stage.
Trump Jr. had previously mocked the failure, after dismissing it as “failure to Launch“And a”#DeSaster of epic proportions, Trump Sr., who clearly wasn’t going to leave it alone, was posting a video on Truth Social of the Rockets labeled “Ron!” 2024” failed to launch, crashed and exploded.
Elsewhere in his “trigger” episode, Trump Jr. mocked DeSantis for his “nasal and saccharine voice” and his for “basically reading, like, an op-ed of what he was going to do”. made fun of.
