“It was on him [sic] Way to go being a great series but the love and commitment from the crew to the cast and writers made it a memorable one,” said the actor. What could be perceived as a dig was actually the cast and crew turning the material into something even bigger.
It was clear that Cox was trying to commemorate the end of the historical HBO series, where he played Logan Roy, the morally gray head of a multiracial conglomerate. Earlier in the final season, Logan passed away unexpectedly, making the power vacuum between his children (and various hangers-ons) even more fraught. Critically acclaimed from the start, this season the show took on even more emotional and dramatic weight, leading to last night’s unforgettable series finale.
“Now we have finally come. And what has definitely been the greatest working experience I have ever had in my career. The camaraderie between the crew and the cast was really amazing,” he said elsewhere in his post. “I Want to thank all of us for creating and creating this show from the bottom of my heart.”
It’s somewhat fitting that he issues a farewell, considering Logan’s unexpected appearance during a video of Logan’s dinner party in the final episode. It ended up being one of the most emotional moments in the episode (and, really, the final season), as you saw Logan in happier times, remembering the presidential candidates who lost and the common Overall it was a good time. As the camera panned around their children, all with tears streaming down their faces, the cruel man who had insulted and abused them in life, mourned in death.
Since being dropped from the show, Cox had already complained that she was killed off too early in the final season. And we’re sure there will be even more comments to make when Cox is interviewed about the show in the coming weeks and months. (He’ll probably also keep making jokes about his hatred of method acting.)
