Presidential candidate Ron DeSantis once again called out Disney over Memorial Day weekend, and on Tuesday morning, the host of “Morning Joe” was cracking down on the Florida governor’s notion that enforcing his dispute with the company would cost him Iowa. Like the state will help. ,
During an interview with “Fox & Friends,” DeSantis argued that Iowans should vote on twice-impeachment-once former President Trump, because Trump “favored Disney” and “I think a A multi-billion dollar company that sexually exploits children is not consistent with the values of Florida or the values of a place like Iowa.
After playing that clip on Tuesday morning, “Morning Joe” hosts and panelists were stunned before they could do anything else.
Scarborough chuckled, saying, “Ron DeSantis decided he was going to start his campaign by talking about how the Magic Kingdom sexually abuses children.” “It’s something that, again, we all grew up with at Disney. Scarborough mocked DeSantis for continuing this feud and attempting to use it to his advantage in Iowa when it was not helping him in his own state.
“I can tell you, as someone who knows a little bit about Florida, it doesn’t even sell in Florida!” he scoffed. “I mean love Disney!”
When it came time for panelist Gene Robinson to consider himself, he couldn’t help but laugh, prompting Scarborough to join in as well.
“Joe, you and I, we’ve both spent a lot of time in Iowa. We both know that, you know, you’re walking down the street and you ask voters, you know, ‘What’s on your mind? What are you thinking?’ Republican voters, and they say ‘That Disney! I hate Disney! I wish someone would go after Disney,'” Robinson joked.
“I mean it’s ridiculous! It’s ridiculous,” he continued. “This is the centerpiece? I can’t believe he mentioned as part of his argument why he should be the Republican nominee, let alone President of the United States. It’s Ahab-like, this Disney invention.” “
