Elliott Page says actress Kate Mara is fine with her memoir, even though it reveals they had a secret romantic relationship when she was dating actor Max Minghella.
“I think the love and care we have for each other is something very special—different from the intimacy I write about,” page told People magazine.
Page says Mara is also set to attend a promotional event for the book “Pageboy: A Memoir” in Los Angeles this month.
Elliott, who publicly came out as a transgender person in 2020, opened up about her life and professional acting career in the book. In a preview of the memoir to People, Page wrote about his romantic relationship with the “House of Cards” actress during the filming of “X-Men: Days of Future Past” (2014). At the time, Mara was in a relationship with Minghella (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), whom Page said supported Mara’s desire to explore her feelings for Page.
Page said, “It was right after I came out as gay and it was a time of discovery and also heartbreak.” “I think my relationship, or whatever you want to call it with Kate, very much involved a certain dynamic in which I constantly found myself falling for people — I think That’s what a lot of us do – not being fully available. And that kind of security and highs and lows and serotonin bump, and then it goes away. And I think it’s definitely a pattern in my life. Is.
A representative for Mara did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.
‘Pageboy: A Memoir’ will premiere on June 6. Read more about the book at People,
