Movies and web series Masaba Masaba 2 review: Another quirky full, albeit strongly feminist romp based on real life situations, where the real people in those situations themselves play a quasi-real version on screen always equates to entering of the metaphysical plane and is perpetually difficult to execute, which made Masaba Masaba Season 1 such a refreshing watch mistake.

Getting through untested waters the first time can be a fluke, however, making repeating the act the real proof of the pudding. So, are Masaba Gupta, Neena Gupta, Neil Bhoopalam and the rest of the gang working out their charms the second time around? Well, you guys would be happy to know that Masaba Masaba Season 2 is just as lighthearted and fun, with subtle feminist undertones, as Season 1 was, if not more. So, are you excited about what you’re going to watch this weekend or what you’re going to watch this week and wondering if Masaba Masaba 2 is your time worth Scroll down for my full Masaba Masaba Season 2 web series review

What is it about

Masaba Gupta returns for round two of navigating the rich and elite of the fashion, film and business worlds as she charts the course of her turbulent romantic endeavors with the help and hindrance of Neena Gupta and Dhairya Rana (Neil Bhoopalam ).

what’s hot

We saw and probably had enough of Masaba Gupta’s disillusionment with Bollywood celes and her trials and tribulations in the fashion world, so it’s a relief that the writers and director Sonam Nair brought the frothy romance of the first season to the fore this time around, with more attention to Masaba’s love life and the many blunders and musical chairs that go with it. Of course there are the fashion stuff going on in the background for those who are still interested, and some of the Bollywood cameos are still pleasantly surprised. Everyone’s performances are a cinch, and Masaba re-plays himself in a somewhat fictional way. The slick production values and the skilled camera work are other highlights.

What not

Again, the show suffers from a lack of depth, maybe more this time around. The editing is also an issue, with each episode having to be shortened by 10-12 minutes.
