The latest show hit by the ongoing writers’ strike is 1923. Filming of the second season Yellowstone The prequel was scheduled to launch in Montana earlier this month, but production has now been “indefinitely postponed.”
According to a report by NBC MontanaBill Melvin, manager of the Butte Civic Center, said he was contacted by production of the Paramount+ series that filming had been postponed due to the ongoing WGA strike.
Filming for the second season of 1923 was scheduled to start Monday, June 5, and according to Melvin, the production will be paying $75,000 a month through the year to use the Civic Center.
Creator Taylor Sheridan already had two seasons in mind 1923 But earlier this year, Paramount+ officially confirmed an eight-episode second season to conclude the saga, starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.
1923 introduces a new generation of Duttons led by patriarch Jacob (Ford) and matriarch Cara (Mirren). The series explores the early 20th century when pandemics, historic droughts and the end of Prohibition ravaged the Mountain West and the Duttons who call home there.
The series also stars Brandon Sklenar, Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, James Badge Dale, Marley Shelton, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, Jerome Flynn and Julia Schlaepfer.
