Tim Dillon Special ‘This Is Your Country’ Sets Netflix Premiere Date, Trailer

EXCLUSIVE, UPDATED 7:30 a.m.: Netflix has announced that comedian Tim Dillon‘s unscripted, talk show-style special, This Is Your Country, will premiere on the streamer on October 1.

As host of this “Jerry Springer-esque” hour, focused on America’s current events, Dillon guides conversations with civilian guests on topics such as immigration, cryptocurrency, and OnlyFans — all while engaging and semi-roasting his live audience. It’s a fresh, yet nostalgic approach to a comedy world filled with hundreds of one hour specials a year.

PREVIOUSLY, JULY 23: Popular comedian and podcaster Tim Dillon has been set to return to Netflix this fall with a new, unscripted, talk show-style special that will focus on America’s current events.

Set over the backdrop of the upcoming election, Dillon’s new hour will focus on the most important, but often overlooked, element of our political system: The People. And pose the question: Do we get what we deserve? Topics will lead to conversations no one wants to have at the holiday table (but that Dillon isn’t afraid to lead).

In addition to hosting/starring, Dillon is credited as creator and executive producer of the special. Elan Gale will exec produce for TheYearOfElan Productions, with EPs Bill Dixon and Brian Frange to serve as co-showrunners. Dave Becky will exec produce for 3 Arts Entertainment, alongside Bernie Schaeffer for ITV America. The show is produced by TheYearOfElan and ITV America.

A stand-up comedian, writer and actor, known for his no-holds-barred humor and incisive social commentary, Dillon previously made his Netflix comedy special debut with 2022’s Tim Dillon: A Real Hero, in which he rants about fast food, living in Texas, Disney adults and the reason no one should be called a hero. Previously, he completed a short special as part of Netflix’s series The Comedy Lineup, which premiered on the streamer in 2018.

Dillon’s podcast, The Tim Dillon Show, averages a million viewers a week between video and audio downloads. He tours theaters internationally and has been a guest on The Joe Rogan Experience 13 times. Most recently seen on screen in Eli Roth’s hit horror pic Thanksgiving, he’ll next appear in Todd Phillips’ Joker: Folie à Deux, which releases in theaters via Warner Bros on October 4.

Dillon is represented by 3 Arts Entertainment, CAA, and Patti Felker at Felker Toczek Suddleson.
