When season 1 of Delhi crime had premiered on Netflix Indiait caused many a surprise and opened many a day for Indians OTT content. First, nobody, not even Netflix had foreseen how big it would become and, moreover, it was the first of its kind, non-documentary web series in the country, based on a brutal, true incident that had shocked the nation, in addition to finally giving Shefali Shahi a headlining act worthy of both her on-screen talent and her arrest (no pun).

Now, 3 years later, most of the same business and crew are returning for Delhi Crime Season 2, this time with the burden of expectations and baggage of following their class act. Prior to the release of the highly anticipated web seriesBollywoodLife sat down with most cast members and director Tanuj Chopra for a exclusive interview where we also discussed some off-topic topics.

For example, the current unwarranted and highly irrational ‘boycott trend’ in Bollywood is reaching alarming proportions and it still seems that the worst is yet to come. With trolls increasing by the day and demanding that Bollywood be boycotted by the minute, we brought Shefali Shah to the scene and asked if it is safer to have your work, like Delhi Crime, appear directly on OTT.
Shefali Shah Opens Up on ‘Boycott Bollywood’ Trend
Reflecting on the current boycott trend in Bollywood, Shefali Shah said that what she doesn’t understand is hate because this is nothing but hate and it takes a lot of effort to hate. In her opinion, hatred in any form and against anyone, not just Bollywood celebs, is energy being wasted in the wrong direction and the effort would be better spent elsewhere on much more constructive work.
