It was a good day for liger [Hindi] because things didn’t go well on Saturday, something they suspected. The footprints were reduced, but only marginally, and as a result Rs. Still 4.25 crores* came in. That said, this wasn’t something anyone associated with the film expected for its release, although it wasn’t entirely unexpected given the kind of trajectory the Telugu version was already taking.
The film has now collected Rs. 10 crores* (including paid preview of Rs. 1.25 crores), although ideally the collections should actually have been closer to Rs. Now 12 crores mark. That kind of trending was absolutely required for Vijay Deverakonda’s action movie, if it were to stand a chance at a Rs. 40-50 crores lifetime. But that will be far from the case now as Sunday may bring even more hit to India-Pakistan T-20 match today.
In the meantime, Karthikeya 2 [Hindi] has profited again and resumed his journey in the ‘crore club’. On Saturday, the film brought Rs. 1.50 crores*, which is a very good jump from Friday’s numbers of Rs. 0.82 crore. The movie has managed to find its target audience and while it isn’t huge, the good thing is that it at least exists, and that’s something that keeps the ball rolling. Standing at Rs. Already 21.50 crores*, this south dubbed movie may have similar numbers to Saturday to Sunday, but the makers won’t mind as long as they hold steady.
