The latest trailer for Black Adam should stir excitement among comic book fans for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s highly anticipated DC debut. Dwayne Johnson has been signing up to play Black Adam since 2007, with the actor determined to play the antihero for a while longer. And that while expanding his own Black Adam universe. “I am 100% committed to not only Black Adam, but also expanding the Black Adam universe, the DC universe,” he said recently. “I am an optimist of the word ‘Go’. So for me and for all of us here, all universes exist in our heads.”

He went on to assure fans that he will listen to what they want to see. “I will, we all will, work very hard to make sure we honor the mythology, but also give the fans what they want. I hear the fans, all of us, and I pick up whatever they put down. It’s not coming because of me, it’s not because of these guys [producer Hiram Garcia, producer Beau Flynn, director Jaume Collet-Serra]. This is the beginning, hopefully, fingers crossed, of a very long narrative road that Black Adam is now the anchoring jet fuel that will push and push this universe.”
