Giselle and Prince Edward are back to mesmerize audiences in the first trailer

During the D23 “Studio Showcase, Day 1: Celebrate the Magic of Disney and Pixar” panel on Friday, September 9, 2022, the trailer for Disenchantedta sequel to the 2007 live-action and animated film enchanted, was released. The upcoming sequel will be released for streaming on Disney+ just in time for Thanksgiving, on November 24, 2022.

The straight to Disney+ movie will see the return of Amy Adams as Giselle, James Marsden as Prince Edward, Patrick Dempsey as Robert Philip and Idina Menzel as Nancy Tremaine. The cast also includes newcomers Maya Rudolph as Malvina Monroe, Yvette Nicole Brown as Rosaleen, Jayma Mays as Ruby and Gabriella Baldacchino as Morgan Philip. Set ten years after the original film, the sequel sees Giselle questioning her happiness (and influencing everyone in her life in the process).

To celebrate the film’s upcoming release, Menzel, Marsden, Rudolph, Brown and Mays took the stage at the “Studio Showcase” panel, and each had the chance to comment on their respective roles in the upcoming film.

Menzel briefed the public on what Tremaine and Edward had done since the end of enchanted. “They’re in couples therapy, but they’re fine,” Menzel joked, before she and Marsden agreed they’d taken dance lessons, killed trolls, and learned how to cook. “We are already happy,” concluded Marsden.

“It was really fun,” said Rudolph during the… disappointed announcement during the Studio Showcase panel. “I’m a big fan of the original enchanted. I can’t believe I get to be a part of this.” However, Rudolph did say that playing an antagonistic role to lead character Giselle brought its own challenges: “It’s not easy being mean to Amy Adams,” she said. “Like, not at all.”

Nevertheless, Rudolph stated that they found a way to make it work: “We had so much fun together and made this nice meal by being as mean to each other as we could be, and it was a dream,” she said. Brown agreed and said she had a lot of fun playing her part. “Imagine grown mean girls — mean women,” Brown said.

disappointed is directed by Adam Shankman and features music by Alan Menken (Small shop full of horrors, The little Mermaid). It will be available for streaming on Disney+ this Thanksgiving, on November 25, 2022.
