The much talked about and highly anticipated Ranbir Kapoor – Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra was seen yesterday. Directed by Ayan Mukherji, the film, which reached more than 5,000 screens in India, is doing quite well. In fact, Brahmastra enjoyed a huge number of reservations for the first three days, with the public booking seats almost a week before the release. Now we hear that despite the large number of screens and the multiple languages, the public can’t get enough. In fact, after Delhi, certain theaters in Mumbai will now be showing Brahmastra shows 24 hours a day.
Brahmastra gives 24-hour shows in Mumbai from 1:30 am
Interestingly, while conventional releases start as early as 8am, following the success and public demand for Brahmastra tickets, certain theaters such as PVR Icon in Goregaon, PVR City Mall in Andheri, PVR Lodha Xperia and a few other locations around the clock. According to reports, these locations will host shows that start as early as 1:30 AM and continue with shows ending with the last one at 11 PM. While this certainly bodes well for the movie business, it’s interesting to note that despite the odd timing, audiences still seem to be reserving their seats. This implementation of 24-hour shows in Mumbai comes after theater owners in Delhi have seen success with this format. Considering that the craze for the movie is huge and audiences seem to be booking tickets to almost every show, that’s no surprise.
As for the film itself, Brahmastra, which also features Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy with special appearances from Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, continues its run at the box office. After grossing Rs. 75 cr. globally, the first day film business is expected to increase further on the first Saturday and Sunday.
