Brahmastra has booked an extraordinary opening weekend as the company saw an uptrend for the first three days. The film collected Rs. 37 crores on opening day, followed by Rs. 42 crores on the second day, and finally Rs. 46 crores on Sunday, bringing the three-day total to Rs. 125 million dollars. This is the biggest opening weekend total for Ranbir Kapoor, surpassing his previous record holder, Sanjuc. This is a historic result for a movie that was released without a single holiday.

of Rs. 125 million dollars, Brahmastra has collected about Rs. 16 crores of the South Indian dubbed version in which the Telugu copy was leading the way clocking in at over Rs. 13 million dollars. Brahmastra has reached a century with its performance in the Hindi version. During the 3 days, the film has collected Rs. 109 to 110 crores with the Hindi version, and this too ranks among the Top 5 opening weekends of all time for a Bollywood movie.

The anticipation surrounding the film has led to it breaking several records throughout the weekend and it is the amount of collections on Monday that will determine the fate of Brahmastra. A strong day north of Rs. $16 million will see the film begin its journey to become a successful venture. But a day south of Rs. $14 million would pose problems for the foreseeable future. A Rs. 15 crore range Monday is a limit result for Brahmastraput it on hold and watch phase.

The film has done well across the board all weekend – be it up north or south, on single screens or multiplexes. As expected, the three national chains have accounted for more than 50 percent of total sales with 3D and IMAX 3D versions registering phenomenal occupancy rates. The 2D version was also well received on Sunday, which does indicate the possibility of a stronghold in collections on Monday.
